Through the work of Consultants in Care Ltd providing specialized housing for those with special care needs it soon became apparent that there were a number of groups within the care industry whose needs were not being met.
CIC Services Ltd was formed to fill once such gap in the marketplace to provide services for adults with mental health and drink / drug related problems, often referred to as “Dual Diagnosis” or “Mixed–Affective”. Clients within this highly specialised group are often misdiagnosed or simply have their care needs pigeon holed due to budgetary constraints. Yet their needs are no less deserving than others within the care sector.
We sought out and employed staff with experience and knowledge of this much neglected group. Though our client base was small our successes were large. We are extremely proud of the clients that we have assisted to turn their lives around.
For over 10 years we have struggled to get the recognition and budgetary requirements that this group needs from Local Government and Health Authorities. In an effort to streamline our operation and still be able to offer the services to this much neglected group we have closed CIC Services Ltd and moved this section of the group’s operation to be part of Social & Community Care Ltd. Being a much larger company within the group and with a larger “back office function” and closer working relationships with Local Authorities have meant that we can continue to support those clients that were previously looked after by CIC Services Ltd.
We continue to champion the requirements of Mixed-Affective whenever possible.
